The Federal Government has concluded plans to donate science and technology equipment to select schools across the country, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has said.
Onu said this at the introduction of tablet technology at the Regent Primary School, Abuja.
He also indicated that the ministry would set up science and technology museum to help students understand science, technology and engineering.
The minister expressed appreciation to the management of Regent Schools for introducing the children to the world of technology by providing tablets for them.

He observed that no nation had become great without science and technology, stressing that the difference between developing and developed countries was in the utilisation of science and technology.
The minister said, “When we invest in science and technology, we have the capacity to build our roads, seaports and airports, and this will give us national pride. It is important for world peace that Nigeria becomes a strong nation.”
He challenged the school to aspire to produce the next astronaut and Olympic gold medallist.
The Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Michael Dickson, said that the introduction of tablet technology in schools would complement the teachers’ efforts and make teaching and learning exciting.
